"Did you read what Theodor said about—"

Stop. Right there.

That's Mr. Herzl to you.

You don't get first-name privileges with the man who founded the World Zionist Organization at 37, wrote The Jewish State in 1896, predicted Israel would exist within 50 years, and was off by exactly one. You get Mr. Herzl. You get Doctor Herzl, if we're being formal — Vienna degree, journalist by trade, prophet by accident.

You don't get to call him Theodor any more than you get to call Lincoln "Abe" or Churchill "Winston." He earned the title. He earned the beard. He earned the respect.

And if anybody gets cute and tries to drop the "Mr." in your presence — point at the shirt. Let it do the talking.

That's Mr. Herzl to you. And don't forget it.
