Before Theodor Herzl and the First Zionist Congress, Jewish leaders were already grappling with exile, return, responsibility, and national restoration through faith, law, and early activism.

This hub focuses on proto-Zionist leadership: rabbis and thinkers who articulated practical, spiritual, and moral arguments for Jewish return — preparing the intellectual soil from which modern Zionism would grow.

These figures were not reacting to antisemitism — they were acting on destiny.
